Steve & Alison

After many holidays around Brittany and Normandy staying in various gîtes, B&B and hotels we bought our first property in Brittany in 2001, a farmhouse 10 minutes away. Now we are settled here full time and thoroughly enjoying the French life and our surroundings.
What we do at work? Alison is an Agent Commercial for an Immobilier (French Estate Agent) so can find for you your perfect home in Brittany or Normandy - just ask. Both are also Directors of BritServ Ltd, house removals from UK to France.
Why saint-Michel? ~ During our own holidays in France we looked for gîtes/self-catering properties to enjoy as our holiday base where we could come and go as we pleased and feel involved in the locality yet close the door and be private and peaceful. Though we would often need to run the gauntlet of driving out to dinner or for a social evening in a cosy bar (somebody always had to drive); Especially demoralising in the 'low' season many towns were 'closed'.
We found that a holiday Gîte within a popular town with all of the benefits was extremely hard to come by. Saint-Michel was born.
How we present Saint-Michel ~ We've high personal standards therefore Saint-Michel must always be presented exceptionally clean, all of the fittings of good quality and must work, no second-hand 'draylon' sofas past their sell by date, no mould, damp, pests. All bedding must be crisp, all towels sparkling white and freshly laundered, all of our guests are made very welcome. I realise this may appear slightly odd that I have written this, however, we've learned from some of the places we've stayed in ourselves!
Saint-Michel ~ A little history. Thought to have been built in the 16th or 17th Century (nobody is quite sure) this little town-house has been thoroughly modernised retaining its quirky original features. She has a lovely history, during World War II in her attics she hid an old valve radio which was tuned in to London to hear of the war effort; later she became a café. René , René where are you?
